Over Half Way!

I'm going to deviate from the baby topic for just a moment to talk about my work baby; WISE.

WISE is the spacecraft that I have been supporting for the last three years.  It launched successfully on Monday and is working well so far.  I tried to go down to see the launch but the timing didn't work out it was delayed for mechanical reasons and then weather.  I did get it watch it on TV and it was a little nerve racking seeing get hurled into space.

For more information on what WISE is see the NASA homepage, WISE Mission.  For pictures of me and the spacecraft click here.

Now on to the Rueckert/Downey Baby.  I'm now 21 weeks and therefore more than half way there!  That makes me panic just a little bit.  We haven't done a lot of planning yet but after Christmas we'll have to start getting on it.  Junior has been very active.  I'm starting to feel him moving around.  Today at work he was doing something that felt like summersaults and making me feel sea sick.

Here are two of the pictures from the ultra sound a couple of weeks ago.  Sorry it took so long to post them.  The one with the hand is very neat.

This is probably the last blog before Christmas.  Jeff and I are headed out to Chris and Mel's in the DC area and get to meet Baby Julian.  Being Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jeff sounds like a lot of fun.

Happy Holidays!

Survey Says...

Its a boy!  The survey was wrong.  Apparently Grandma Downey is still right Downey men only make Downey boys.

The ultra sound was very cool.  Everything looked good.  Seeing all of the different features was really neat.  We got to see hands (we have all 10 fingers), face, mouth, hear.  Got to see him kick me - although I still don't feel it.  I have pictures that I'll scan them in this weekend but everyone wanted to know now so here is the preliminary blog posting.

Jeff and I are very excited.  More later.

Week 18

The picture is from week 17 but I don't think that I'm too much bigger this week.  We had our third baby appointment on Monday and everything went really well.  The doctor found the heart beat really quickly and said it was right on track at 160.

We scheduled The Ultra Sound for Dec 4th.  Vote now on the gender you only have 9 days left.  Once we know we'll post for everyone.  I know Jeff and I are super excited to find out.  And then of course there are the bragging rights.

I'm doing really good at the moment.  Still don't have as much energy as I usually do but I don't spend the whole day eating or sleeping any more.  I have had some serious pregnancy memory loss moments mostly at work.  Oh well.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

First Post

Welcome everyone! To copy the other Downey family we set up a blog to keep everyone up to date on the progress of little Downey addition number two. This is post number one and I know it is already 15 weeks along. Here is the first baby bump picture. You can see you that Logan is very interested by this whole process.

I'm feeling a lot better - the nausea is almost gone and I have most of my energy back. We hope to keep this blog up but the holidays might make it slow.

We set up a poll on the left to see what everyone thought Boy vs Girl. Jeff is leaning towards girl and Grandpa Downey is swearing on boy. As for myself all I know is that it is a baby. :)

Many of you know that we came back recently from our New England trip (yes leaf peeping). We posted the pictures on Picasa click here. We had tons of fun with the history, leaves and pretty scenery. Jeff was awesome because I still got tired really easily and fell asleep really early every night. Oh and then there was the bathroom stops all the time. :)
